It's Been Quite a Winter!

This has been a wild and crazy winter. Even though Punxatawney Phil claims there are six more weeks of winter, the Western Area geese are telling me this has to end soon! We can never predict the weather. Our goal is to make sure that all students and staff are safe and not going out into terrible inclement weather.

Due to school cancellations, we will be having school on the following days that were originally scheduled as days off: February 16, February 19, March 29 and April 2. We have requested a waiver from the PDE, and will notify everyone immediately if it is approved. Hopefully, we will not have any more snow days to make up, or we will be adding days at the end of May.

Graduation (May 15, 2018) will not be affected so far. We will work with all nine of our sending schools to make sure that everyone is out in a timely manner will all the requirements needed for students to graduate.

I want to thank you for your patience. I know when we close the students have to stay home with you and that creates a problem, especially when you or your significant other has to work.

Again, thank you for your patience. If I could control the weather, it would be sunny and 70 degrees every day of the year!
