Develop the students’ skills in reading, thinking, writing, listening, and speaking through an in-depth study of American and world literature through a variety of genres and through researching informational materials. 

This course is aligned with the PA Academic Standards for Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.  Students will do a variety of writing assignments including informational, narrative, and persuasive prompts.  Oral communication skills will be developed through speeches, demonstrations, and interviews.  Various elements of literature will be covered.   All aspects of employment will be studied from applying for a job to keeping it.  Emphasis is placed on the integration of these skills into the trade areas and work environment.
